New clothes

Ollie got this cute new hoodie from grandma and papa hee for Christmas, and he absolutely loves it! It's so cute and so soft, it's like wearing a Blanket!

The last time he wore it he even made a sound that I swear sounded like "woof"! Too funny!

Ginormous chewy

One of Ollie's friends at work had ordered him one of his favorite chew treats online for christmas. It comes in a variety of sizes, and Ollie's size it "teeny"...but when the order came in, the site accidentally sent her, "ginormous" (for dogs 40 pounds and up).    She didn't want to send it back for one chew toy so she decided to see what he would do with it:

when he first opened it, i had to monitor how much he ate...i would let him chew on it only a little at a time...i didn't want an unfortunate green poop explosion to happen! lol!  but after awhile, when the novelty wore off a little, he would only eat a little at a time.  It eventually took him about a month to finish off the entire thing...

i wonder what he'll do if we go back to the teeny size.  lol.

Ollie & Jingle

I am such a sucker and had to get a jingle dog from hallmark...Ollie was pretty interested for a good 5 minutes before he went back to his ginormous chew toy:

It's a new year!

Happy New Year!
I have a lot of catching up to do! Let's start with New Years Eve...Ollie's most hated day of the year.  i prepared for it with a few of the necessities:
the necessities
thundershirt and rescue remedy were used....i'm not sure to what degree they help, but i do think it helps at least a little.

we kept him in our apartment, but when the early firework shows started, he did hide in a cave of pillows and blankets:

then i had an idea, i don't know why i never thought of it earlier, but he tends to hide in the bathroom whenever there are fireworks or thunderstorms...so i thought we should spend midnight in the bathroom, with the door closed, and music blasting.

it seemed to do the trick! you couldn't hear the firework show, but as you can see in the bottom three pics of the collage, ollie could smell the faint smoke smell (even i couldn't smell it with the door closed)
definitely not the most glamorous of new years eve celebrations, but i just can't leave him on the scariest day of the year for him.
