several months ago i learned of a subscription box for dogs called "bark box". it's essentially a birch box for dogs. it seemed pretty interesting, but i wasn't completely sure i wanted to sign up for one...so i kept an eye on the products in each month's boxes, and i really liked them! so i signed ollie up for a 6 month subscription and he got his first box this month!!!
the july box included a rubber/squeaky chew toy in the shape of a steak (from petprojeckt.com)...which was wrapped on one of those Styrofoam black trays and packaged pretty much like a real steak. ollie had to rip that open immediately, so that's why i was unable to get a picture of the cute packaging. he was very intrigued with the squeaking in the beginning, but soon lost interest. he's not the biggest fans of rubber toys. he prefers plush stuffed animal type toys.
There was also incredibubbles (petqwerks.com) (purple tube to the left of steak) which are long lasting bubbles w/a peach flavor, that other dogs have been going crazy over, apparently, but ollie was too fixated on the spinz chew treat (precisionpet.com). The Spinz treat was definitely the clear favorite of the box...which is an interactive edible chew toy that is supposedly supposed to last you "hours"...ollie ate half in a matter of minutes (i took the other half away, to give him the next day)...i'll probably look to buy more of these again!
Also included was a roll of poopy bags (metropaws.com) which is always welcomed and needed! and a bag of treats called yumzies (nootie.com), which ollie also seems to like...just not as much as that spinz chew treat. and lastly, there was a coupon for $10 off a pet food delivery site, pet flow (petflow.com).
i was pretty impressed with the box! i love that we have new things to try, and are introduced to new products. can't wait for next month's box!

Lately, whenever we take ollie out for long walks...or when he runs like a crazy dog on long walks...i've noticed that his paw pads get torn and scraped. Then he'll spend all night licking his paws...so after watching some youtube videos and reading reviews i decided to try the Pawz dog boots.
I ordered them from petco.com and bought the xs, but he really needs the xxs. the boots are reusable and disposable, so you can use them a few times then throw 'em out. they're pretty much like little balloons.
it took him awhile, but he got used to wearing the boots...his initial first steps were funny, but not as hilarious as others i've seen on youtube. look at his face in the picture, he looks like, "what are you doing to me mommy?"
here's a short clip of his first steps wearing pawz:
we took him to see the ducks with them on...on his mad dash to the pond, he left a trail of little orange boots...they all flew off! i'm off to order the smaller size! :)
